Speech-Language Pathologist

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) implements speech therapy programs. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students PreK-12.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions.

  • Facilitate students’ access to the academic curriculum and functional life skills by targeting the language processes of reading, writing, speaking, listening and learning.

  • Use evidence- and research-based intervention strategies.

  • Develop personalized therapy plans that align with patient goals and healthcare protocols.

  • Provide individual and group therapy for speech and language disorders (e.g., articulation, fluency, aphasia, dysarthria).

  • Offer interventions for feeding and swallowing challenges (dysphagia), if applicable.

  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy strategies to encourage progress outside of sessions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

  • Participate in meetings to report progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.

  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.

  • Stay current with research and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications.

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, continuing education, and/or training offered by Insight

  • Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner

  • Maintain an acceptable attendance record and is punctual

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) in progress

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

  • Background check and current fingerprinting

Salary: $77,388 - $82,111 per year

Location: Berea, OH (Ability to commute/relocate)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am - 4pm (8 hr shift; 40 hours/week)

Work Year: August – June (10 Months/40 weeks); Required ESY Summer Program
