Speech-Language Pathologist
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) implements speech therapy programs. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in students PreK-12.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions.
Facilitate students’ access to the academic curriculum and functional life skills by targeting the language processes of reading, writing, speaking, listening and learning.
Use evidence- and research-based intervention strategies.
Develop personalized therapy plans that align with patient goals and healthcare protocols.
Provide individual and group therapy for speech and language disorders (e.g., articulation, fluency, aphasia, dysarthria).
Offer interventions for feeding and swallowing challenges (dysphagia), if applicable.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy strategies to encourage progress outside of sessions.
Maintain accurate and timely patient records, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Participate in meetings to report progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
Stay current with research and participate in continuing education to maintain licensure and certifications.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, continuing education, and/or training offered by Insight
Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner
Maintain an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or CFY (Clinical Fellowship Year) in progress
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Background check and current fingerprinting
Salary: $77,388 - $82,111 per year
Location: Berea, OH (Ability to commute/relocate)
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am - 4pm (8 hr shift; 40 hours/week)
Work Year: August – June (10 Months/40 weeks); Required ESY Summer Program
