Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher (High School)
An SEL Teacher is responsible for implementation of Insight’s curriculum and the success of our high school students. An SEL Teacher will efficiently operate the classroom and ensure student academic and behavioral success. Successful candidates will have a passion for working with high school aged students. Our teachers are kind, supportive, inspirational, and encourage student learning. This position is for the 24-25 school year and is located at Insight Academy in Berea, Ohio.
Responsibilities include:
Plan and implement clear learning objectives for all lessons
Implement curricula and activities to meet our high academic standards
Teach the appropriate course of study for the specific content area using a variety of instructional techniques that meet individual learning styles
Establish and maintain a safe environment for K-12 grade students
Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a positive learning environment
Prepare clear and timely lesson plans and distribute course-related assignments
Provide guidance to students to promote their educational development
Attend parent/teacher conferences
Collaborate with colleagues
Demonstrate instructional control with students
Implement evidence-based practices
Collaborate with Intervention Specialists on IEPs and attend IEP meetings
Communicate questions and concerns about both replacement behaviors and interfering behaviors to the Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Maintain accurate and complete records as required
Collect daily data on student ABA programming and interfering behavior(s) according to procedures established by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Maintain current Ohio teacher licensure/certification
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, continuing education, and/or training offered by Insight
Communicate with parents in a professional and timely manner
Maintain an acceptable attendance record and is punctual
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited school
Valid Ohio teaching endorsement, credential, or license (or commitment to obtain one)
One year of successful experience or student teaching under direct documented supervision.
Ability to maintain effective relationships with teachers, administrators, staff, parents and community members
Ability to provide leadership and direction and to work cooperatively with other professional staff
Ability to communicate effectively in written or oral form to staff, students, parents, and community members
Participate in required crisis prevention strategies and restraint procedures training
Knowledge of academic area and teaching methodology
Background check and current fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years teaching experience
Focus in special education or experience with special needs students
Specific experience working with students with high management needs
Schedule: Monday – Friday (40 hours/week)
Work Year: August – June (10 Months/40 weeks); Required ESY Summer Program

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
